That's what critics keep calling Markus Rill. And indeed there is no other voice like this (an amazing mixture of raw-throated power and smoky subtlety) in the land of krautrockers and liedermacher (a German term referring to writers of songs with German lyrics).
Rill's fourth album is simply great because for fifty minutes, his voice can take you to Texas, to a campfire or the wide open spaces which make the American dream. The songs, vocals and the atmosphere on this album are perfect. Needless to say that every note on this record is handmade and played with heart and soul.
