Hiya guys,
a quick update on our goings-on.
Played a great gig in Nuremberg with cowpunk legend Jason Ringenberg in February. Andi & I were soundcheckin' when he came in. I introduced myself and told him that we knew a bunch of the same people in Nashville. Jason cuts all of his records with George Bradfute who produced "Price Of Sin" with me. He's a dear friend to both us.
I guess that piqued Jason's interest so he stuck around for our soundcheck and seemed to like what he heard. So he suggested we do a few songs together as an encore - which we did. That was great fun as was our set earlier. Jason called Andi "a world class piano player, no doubt about it." He's right about that for sure.
Also sat in with my friend Biber Herrmann last Saturday, March 8, at the Walhalla in Wiesbaden. A cool place. Weh ad good fun.
For some reason, myspace recently chose me as one of their featured artists. They didn't tell me about it, I just noticed getting tons and tons of friend requests and lots of nice email from folks saying they enjoyed my music very much. Beautiful - I hope they all buy the new record :-)
I posted plenty of new reviews and stories in the press section. Do check them out.
On Wednesday, March 12, I'll be playing a short set at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt (2.30 pm, the MusikBiz stage hosted by Emergenza in hall 4.2). As far as I know, the exposition will not be open to the public that day.
I'm very much looking forward to playing another "Evening of Words & Music" at the book store "13 1/2" in Würzburg on Thursday, April 3. I'll be reading from and talking about some literature that has inspired me and continues to do so and of course I'll be playing some acoustic music as well - I plan to perform some material that I don't play regularly. Drop me a line if you have any suggestions.
By the way, we found time to do some work on some of those YouTube videos. I posted new versions of "Straighter Road" and "Unlike You". Check 'em out.
Hope I'll see you around, keep in touch,
Markus
