Hiya folks,

 

two more days to go until Markus Rill & The Gunslingers play Wuerzburg's Weinfest am Stein. It should be a fun night with four sets chock full of original songs and some of our favorite rock'n'roll and country songs. You'll get to hear plenty of Rill, some Elvis, some Johnny Cash, some Buddy Holly ... good stuff. Come on out, Thursday at 7 pm.

 

On August 4 I'll be playing a solo gig starting at 2 pm right at Wuerzburg's Vierröhrenbrunnen. This'll be part of your afternoon entertainment in conjunction with the nationwide Transdia bike race.

 

Let's take a look back on our set at the Umsonst & Draussen in June. Andi and I had the great pleasure of closing our favorite hometown open air. It was quite an experience. We had some technical problems, no soundcheck and a bit of a tough time really getting into it and yet the audience response was overwhelming. For anyone who's seen us there, you oughta come see us on a good night :-) Anyway, I guess we did alright and enjoyed Caro Weißenberg joining us for some harmony vocals.

 

We've also got some new stuff to offer.

We made a live CD with 15 songs culled from two different concerts. One in November of last year where Andi & I played a double header with Tim Easton at the Lab in Stuttgart. The other tracks are taken from a show I played in Landsberg/Lech this February accompanied by Robert Hasleder on mandolin, dobro, and Weissenborn lap slide. The record is all acoustic and focuses on material from the last two albums, Hobo Dream and The Price Of Sin. But we're also previewing two new songs as well as playing some Elvis!

It's a very enjoyable CD and we've received great feedback from the folks who bought it at the U&D.

And for the first time ever, we had some T-shirts made. They're fine shirts in sizes S, M, and L in black or burgundy red with a "Markus Rill" logo on the front. We've also got some black "girlie shirts" with the logo in front. I'll try to post a picture of these shirts here soon.
