Würzburg, November 14, 2006

Hi folks,

November got off to a good start with a fine gig in Regensburg and an enjoyable trip to Berlin. Sat in with my friend Bianca DeLeon at Berlin guitars on Saturday night and played my own solo set last Sunday at the Aufsturz, a very nice new club.

My good friend Martin Abend bowed out of playing with me but he recorded two songs with a small digital camera and put them up at www.youtube.com. Do a search for "Markus Rill" and you'll find live videos of solo versions of "The Price You Pay For Sin" and a new song called "Gotta Keep My Hands Off". This is fun!

We also got some pictures of that Aufsturz show in the gallery.

This Friday, Nov. 17, I'll be playing a songwriter night with Robert Oberbeck in his hometown of Marburg at a venue called "Molly Malone's".

And I'm very much looking forward to meeting Tim Easton next week Thursday, Nov. 23. Tim's got a great new album out called "Ammunition". We'll be playing a double header show at the Laboratorium in Stuttgart. Tim will be appearing solo, I will be playing with Andi Obieglo.

Three days later, on Sunday, Nov. 26, I'll be sitting in with my new friend Douglas Greer at Roepan Cultureel Podium in Ottersum/NL. Douglas is a singer-songwriter from Austin, Tx. whose debut album "Just A Man" is causing quite a stir. This is his first trip to Europe.

And while we're at it, let me tell you about a hometown show at the Immerhin in Würzburg on Dec. 1. KC McKanzie, a talented singer-songwriter from Berlin will be joining us. The Gunslingers & I intend to raise the roof that night.

Plenty more gigs lined up for December that I'll be telling you about in the next newsletter.

Please check out the competition at www.walktheline-contest.de and vote for your favorite cover version of a Johnny Cash song. I got two songs in the running, "I Still Miss Someone" and "Ghost Riders In The Sky" (attributed to "Los Solitary Men"). You might even win a trip to Tennessee if you participate.

Oh ... and check this out www.marybethdamico.com
Marybeth's debut EP "Waiting To Fly" is now available through her website. I produced those five songs and played on them and they came out real nice. We're already getting very good reviews.

And there'll be a bunch of new reviews, interviews, and newspaper articles posted in the reviews section in the next few days - so do check in there from time to time.

I hope to see you at one of the upcoming gigs or hear from you via email or a guest book entry.

Take care y'all,

Markus
