Hi folks,

a few things I had hinted at last month are now official: The songwriter night is back and the duo tour with Rachel Harrington is confirmed.

Starting in October we will bring the Songwriter Night back to Würzburg. The concept is simple: On the first Sunday of each month I will welcome a singer-songwriter to a new bar in town called "cu". We will each perform separately in the first set and together in the second set. The playing together part is a lot of fun: sitting in on each other's songs, harmonizing, and jamming on a few choice covers.

My first guest in October will be Dennis Schütze. Dennis is a very fine singer, a versatile guitarist, and a songwriter strong on melodies. We're partners in the Johnny Cash-tribute band "Solitary Men" and have performed and recorded together many times. I'm sure we'll have a ball opening the fall/winter series of Songwriter nights on October 3rd, 7.30 p.m. at the cu.
My guests in November and December will be two female American songwriters: Tess Wiley and Rachel Harrington.

I'm very happy to report that the December tour with Rachel Harrington has come together. We'll be playing duo gigs between December 27 and Dec. 31. We also got booked for the prestigious Hillbilly Guesthouse festival on October 23 in Neusüdende/Germany. Very cool. Check those dates on the tour dates site.

Right now I'm looking forward to playing some live shows with the Gunslingers. We've worked up some new songs, re-arranged some older ones, and have learned a new cover or two. I'm real stoked about playing with the boys cuz I gotta tell ya, the band is sounding pretty good in the rehearsal room, I'm sure we'll have a great time playing live.

So don't miss out on all these goings-on. Get ready for a lotta cool live music coming your way these next few months. Oh, and stock up on "Hobo Dream" - I still got some copies left.

Stay tuned and keep rockin',
Markus
